In 2023, the company was acquired by Bunzl plc, joining its healthcare portfolio and benefiting from strengthened logistics, regulatory, and operational support structures.

In March 2026, GRC Surgical was renamed Obex MedTech Australia, marking the next phase in the organisation’s evolution and further aligning with Bunzl’s broader MedTech strategy.

Surgical Diagnostics & Oncology
this business unit provides advanced detection systems, breast‑cancer surgical technologies, and oncology‑focused medical devices. We are the exclusive Australian distributor of the Neoprobe® gamma detection system from Mammotome, a technology used to support sentinel lymph node biopsy.

Clinical Support & Service Excellence

Obex MedTech Australia delivers a high level of clinical and technical support through a specialised team that works closely with surgeons, theatre teams, and hospital staff to demonstrate and educate on the benefits of its technologies.

The company also provides Obex Service, the only Australian‑based NATA‑approved service centre capable of testing and repairing gamma detection systems without requiring devices to be shipped to manufacturer for servicing, ensuring no downtime through access to loan systems and fast turnaround times
